Drainage Engineer

The Drainage Engineer provides engineering expertise to plan, design, and deliver Hydraulic and Hydrologic aspects of Drainage and Transportation Feasibility, Schematic and PS&E projects in Texas. As a fully competent Registered Professional Engineer, this individual performs work in all conventional aspects of civil engineering related to these types of projects.

Position may be located in Austin, DFW, Houston or San Antonio, TX

Responsibilities:

• Lead project design task assignments related to Hydraulic and Hydrologic analysis and design for a variety of Drainage and Transportation projects in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines
• Support Senior Engineer and Project Manager with adhering to project scope, schedule and budget, client interaction and implementing the Alliance QAQC Program
• Use appropriate design tools and software in order to function on multidiscipline teams
• Actively participate in implementing initiatives to improve technical capabilities and project quality
• Receive guidance and direction on unconventional or complex problems, techniques and approaches
• Mentor and train members of project design teams on various tasks and tools
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering or related field
• 4-10 years of progressive drainage engineering experience
• Expertise with Microstation, GEOPAK Drainage, HEC RAS, HEC HMS
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail Oriented
• Self-StarterGood Problem-Solving Skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas
• Experience with Edwards Aquifer design criteria and familiarity with Central Texas agency protocol
• Experience with InRoads, OpenRoads, SWMM and other H&H software
• Familiarity with TxDOT design manuals and construction standards
• TxDOT precertifications in applicable categories
