Human Resources Assistant

Position Purpose:

The Human Resources Assistant is an integral part of the HR team. The HR Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the smooth development, implementation and administration of our growing firm's HR processes and initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

The main function of the HR Assistant will be to provide on-going coordination and general administrative HR support within the firm. The HR Assistant will also aid in the sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and retention efforts for all hires. The duties and responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs administrative work, including maintaining electronic files, and documentation, reporting, scanning
  • Coordinates logistics for phone screens, interviews, follow-up communications
  • Maintains/updates accurate job descriptions, offer letters, policies, and procedures
  • Assists with benefits enrollments and changes
  • Assists with the facilitation of professional development groups, programs, and trainings
  • Assists with preparation and facilitation of company functions
  • Assists other departments within the support team, including reception, accounting, marketing, etc. as needed
  • Assists with additional tasks and assignments as workflow demands

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree minimum
  • 1+ years of experience in an administrative or HR-related role
  • Prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure
  • Strong commitment to quality service and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of staff
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills
  • Self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision

 

Other Desired Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  • 3+ years related work experience
  • Understanding of Deltek Vision and/or Cosential information management systems
  • Ability to function through ambiguity, frequently changing priorities, and varied workflow
  • Experience supporting multiple departments in a fast paced, growing firm
  • Familiarity or general understanding of the AEC industry
