Project Engineer - Transportation and Drainage

Project Engineer plans, designs, manages, and directs Drainage-related aspects of Transportation Design projects. As a fully competent Registered Professional Engineer, this individual performs work in all conventional aspects of civil engineering related to these types of projects.

The Project Engineer:

• Develops plans, specifications, and estimates for Roadway projects. 
• Responsible for performance to scope, schedule and budget. 
• Responsible for performance of project staff.
•  Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in engineering or related field. PE License in Texas or ability to acquire same within 3 months. 
• 7 or more years of progressive engineering experience with 2 years of experience managing projects.
• Particular consideration is given to experience with project management, schematic design, and coordination of environmental and public involvement tasks. 
• Extensive knowledge of temporary and permanent erosion control practices.  
• Expertise with engineering software, programs (Microstation, GEOPAK Drainage, HEC RAS, HEC HMS) and methods used for duties described above. 
• Must pass background and driver's record check.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Edwards Aquifer design criteria and familiarity with local agency protocol. 
• TXDOT proposal development experience.  
• Experience with SWMM software. 
• TxDOT precertification in applicable categories.
