Senior Roadway Design Engineer

The Senior Roadway Design Engineer provides engineering expertise to plan, design, manage, and deliver complex urban and rural roadway projects. As a fully competent Registered Professional Engineer, this individual performs work in all conventional aspects of civil engineering related to these types of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Lead project design task assignments related to roadway design for a variety of transportation projects in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines
• Use appropriate design tools and software in order to function on multidiscipline teams
• Actively participate in developing and implementing initiatives to improve technical capabilities and project quality
• Provide guidance and direction on unconventional or complex problems, techniques and approaches
• Mentor and train members of project design teams on various tasks and tools
• Assist with development of technical content for Statement of Qualification and other proposal materials
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering or related field
• 12 or more years of progressive roadway engineering experience
• Expertise with Microstation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail Oriented
• Self-Starter
• Good Problem-Solving Skills
   

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas
• Experience with InRoads, OpenRoads, and other design software
• Expertise with TxDOT design manuals and construction standards
• TxDOT precertifications in applicable categories
• Experience with TxDOT proposal development
