Travel Demand Modeler - MMJJCO

Travel Demand Modeler:  Three openings. Under supervision and as part of a team, the Travel Demand Modeler must estimate, calibrate, validate and apply statewide and urban area multi-modal travel demand models for state and metropolitan agencies and organizations throughout the U.S.  Specific responsibilities: Analyze, construct and document input to travel demand models. Calibrate model coefficients to produce statistically reliable results. Analyze socioeconomic data, travel survey data and trip origin-destination data. Assist with validation of travel demand models to ensure performance. Apply models to forecast future transportation system performance under varying conditions and project scenarios to test feasibility and economic viability of major highway and transit infrastructure projects. Contribute to preparation and presentation of technical reports and presentations on model development, application and results.

Required:   Master's degree or higher in Bioregional Planning, Civil or Transportation Engineering or Transportation Planning.  In addition, a minimum of 6 months of experience with travel demand modeling concepts and terminology as Research Assistant, Intern or in similar role is required.  Experience must include construction and manipulation of layers in a GIS environment, and the use of mode choice models, along with experience using AutoCAD, MATLAB and SPSS.
